Golf Club Margara

Nestled in the evocative landscape of Monferrato – a land of vineyards, rolling hills, and timeless villages recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site – Golf Margara has been a charming destination for over fifty years, where elegance and authenticity blend into an unforgettable experience.

Founded in 1972 by Glauco Lolli Ghetti, the club welcomes guests with two magnificent 18-hole courses: the Glauco Lolli Ghetti Course, framed by centuries-old oaks and wide, scenic fairways, and the more recent La Guazzetta Course, appreciated for its technical variety and spectacular views over the hills.

Both courses offer exciting challenges for all levels of play, immersed in unspoiled nature that changes color with the seasons.

Margara is also a well-known name on the international scene, having hosted two editions of the Ladies Italian Open and no fewer than 22 stages of the European Challenge Tour – events that have brought some of Europe’s most promising golf talents to its greens.

But Margara is much more than a golf course: it is an oasis of peace and refinement, perfect for those seeking rejuvenation away from the city pace, combining moments of sport, relaxation, and local discovery.

The estate includes 34 rooms spread across several buildings, arranged according to the "albergo diffuso" (scattered hotel) concept, offering intimate and authentic hospitality in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment.

The historic clubhouse, a restaurant offering seasonal cuisine and local products, a swimming pool nestled in greenery, tennis court, Technogym fitness area, sauna, and relaxation zone complete an offering designed for those who seek wellness, taste, and beauty in every detail.

Strategically located – less than an hour and a half from Milan and Turin, and just a short distance from the historic cities of Asti, Alessandria, and Casale Monferrato – Margara is also the perfect starting point for exploring the discreet charm of Monferrato: historic wineries, stately homes, food and wine trails, and landscapes that tell centuries of history and tradition.

Glauco Lolli Ghetti Course

- est. 1972 -

18 Holes | Par 72 | White 6349 m / Blue 5606 m – Yellow 6048 m / Red 5415 m

Host to two Ladies Italian Opens, 22 editions of the European Challenge Tour, and annual Italian Championships, the Glauco Lolli Ghetti Course stands out for its Parkland style. Majestic oaks and tall trees frame each hole, accompanying fairways that wind gracefully through Monferrato’s gentle hills. A unique course with over 50 years of history, it continues to captivate both professional and amateur players.

La Guazzetta Course

- est. 1972 -

18 Holes | Par 72 | White 6597 m / Blue 5671 m – Yellow 6176 m / Red 5359 m

The La Guazzetta Course features a more modern design compared to the Glauco Lolli Ghetti Course, alternating between wide-open holes and more technical ones where strategy is guided by large water hazards. On La Guazzetta, players are allowed to be accompanied by their dogs, provided they are kept on a leash and care is taken not to damage the course or disturb other golfers.
